BOOK CLUB

As you know, my family and I started a book club. We have already read three books that take place in South America: What the Moon Saw, The Ugly One, and I Lived on Butterfly Hill. But, we left South America and now we need new books for Oceana countries. A few days ago, we started to read them.

The first book that we are reading is called, Into That Forest. This book is written by Louis Nowra and takes place in Tasmania. The book is about a girl, around 13 years old, who goes out with her parents and friend to canoe in a river. Her parents die, but she survives because of two tigers, a mother and a father. I haven’t read that far in yet, but it has already captured by interest.

The next book we are planning to read is called, Catch a Falling Star by Meg McKinlay, and it takes place in Australia. This book is about a girl, Frankie, and her brother, Newt. Their father is working at SkyLab, which is kind of their NASA. Then, the SkyLab space station falls from the sky, with their dad in it. So now Frankie has to take care of Newt when he starts acting strange. That is all I know — besides that it is going to be a good book!

The last book we are planning to read is, How to Bee by Bren MacDibble. It takes place in New Zealand. This is a book about what would happen if there were no bees. The kids end up pollinating the plants and flowers by hand! I really want to read this book, but I don’t want to act as a bee!

You guys should read these new books along with us! I have a feeling they are going to be good. Also, if you did read the last books from South America, please let me know. I want to know what you thought of them!
