Bún Chà

In my earlier blog post (“Hanoi in Three Words”), I wrote about how much I LOVE writing! Another thing that I love just as much is FOOD!! I’m open to trying anything, so when I got the opportunity to go to Bún Chả, a local Vietnamese restaurant that Anthony Bourdain and Barack Obama visited, guess what my answer was?

“YES!”

From the outside, it looks like any other restaurant you might find in Hanoi. You wouldn't have guessed that anything special happened here! We walked inside and upstairs to find our table. The restaurant is decorated with pictures of Bourdain and Obama, posing with the restaurant's owners and waitresses and waiters. We immediately placed our order, which consisted of two “Combo Obamas.”

Bún Chả is a dish consisting of beef and pork with rice noodles in broth. It is delicious! The meat is flavorful and sweet, the noodles are soft and the broth is perfectly tangy. This Bún Chả is exceptional!

It was definitely one of my favorite meals ever! I'm so glad we went, because if we didn’t, we would be missing out on the best Bún Chả in Hanoi!
