SHIBUYA

While we were in Tokyo, we spent time in the neighborhood of Shibuya. I thought Shibuya was basically the Times Square of Tokyo!

It is home the Hachiko statue and the busiest intersection in the world. It is known as the “Shibuya Scramble'' because of how many people (thousands actually!) can cross from multiple points. The intersection itself is actually pretty small.

One skyscraper that overlooks the intersection has a rooftop experience called “Shibuya Sky.” It has a 360° view of the Tokyo skyline and Mount Fuji. Although it was cloudy, we got a good view of Mount Fuji in the distance.

While in Shibuya, we also shopped, visited the Food Show, and played in arcades. Arcades in Tokyo are more than a bit overwhelming; there are many games with dinging noises, loud music and bright lights,  jam-packed into narrow buildings with multiple floors! It was very fun, mostly because I beat my Mom in air hockey! We also shopped in many stores, including Muji. I went crazy over all of the pens and stationery!!

Shibuya was a great way to end our time in Tokyo, although I’m disappointed that we’re leaving so soon! I hope to come back one day to see the cherry blossoms!
