THAI BOOK CLUB: GROUP 2

For our Book Club, me and my mom read The Floating Field: How a Group of Thai Boys Built Their Own Soccer Field. The author is Scott Riley. The main characters are Prasit and his friends. This book takes places on a remote island in Thailand. It is a TRUE story!

The boys loved soccer. They played on the beach at first, but when the tide came in, their field was gone. So they decided to make their own field on the water! They found scraps of wood so that they could make a field. It was like a dock. They used nets for goals and they painted lines on it to look like a real soccer field. Now they could always play.

One day they read a sheet that said they could be in a real soccer tournament. They signed up! But unfortunately, they lost their first game. But they were still super proud of all they had done.

Overall, I thought the book was super good. The boys worked very very very hard and they followed their dreams.
