Iguazu Falls

Earlier this week, my family and I spent three days at Iguuza Falls, which are a collection of massive waterfalls on the borders of Brazil and Argentina. We visited both sides of the falls; the Brazilian side and the Argentinian side. I am going to go through the pros and cons of both sides.

Argentina

Pros:

  • This side of the waterfalls was much bigger, and there were multiple paths, called circuits, to choose from. We walked along the lower and upper circuits.

  • On all of the circuits, there were lookout points, so you were very close to the waterfalls. Sometimes you felt like you were flowing with the water. Other times you were getting spritzed at the bottom of the waterfall.

CONS:

  • We got wet, especially on the lower circuits at the bottoms of the waterfalls. And it didn’t help that it was pouring rain most of the time.

  • Because it was the larger side, and more popular side, it was very crowded. There were also large groups and tour buses arriving frequently.

Brazil

Pros:

  • While on the Argentina side we had beautiful close-up views, here we enjoyed stunning panoramic views.

  • We saw more animals on this side, like tapirs, lizards, butterflies and coatis.

CONS:

  • Unlike the multiple circuits offered on the Argentinian side, there was only one short one-way path, which made it very difficult to navigate with many people.

  • Sadly, that meant that it felt squished even if there were fewer people on this side.

So you should come here because it is very cool, and you do not want to miss it. I would suggest going to both sides, like we did. EL FIN!
