ROAD TRIP: DAY 8

Lately we have been reading the book Wonder by RJ Palacio. One chapter in the book talks about precepts. We learned what a precept is and now we are constantly talking about and learning new precepts. Here’s my precept today; Is the view worth the climb?

Today we ventured out to beautiful Abel Tasman, a national park located on the Tasman Sea.

First we took a boat out to Anchorage, a beach with several trailheads leading to amazing hiking trails. As soon as the boat left us there we truly realized we were alone. 😳

We began our hike, eager to reach the first lookout point. Slowly, but surely, the most turquoise waters started to come into view through the trees. My anticipation started to build up and the question at the top of my mind was; will the view be worth the climb?

Soon we reached the first lookout point. It was breathtaking. The view was stunning. The water was just as blue as the waters in Cozumel. The mountains just flowed right into the chilly waters that disappeared into the horizon.

After we finished our hike, we took a quick dip in the water. It was freezing, but so worth it. It was magical to swim in waters that blue. As we ended our adventures in Abel Tasman, I reflected on my day and I do think the view was definitely worth the climb. You have to see it to believe it. That might be my next precept! 😉
