BEAUTIFUL INDIA

It’s all true and it’s all wonderful

It is beyond loud and incredibly serene

It is super crowded yet very peaceful

It is fast and slow

It is old and new

It is poverty and wealth

It is welcoming and kind and friendly and kinda pushy all at the same time

It is grandmas cutting wheat by hand and smiling faces at every turn

It is filled with tragic love stories and family drama, with fathers under house arrest by their sons (don’t get any ideas, children)

It is universal in its markets, villages and temples

It is universal in the joy of kids playing on a playground with new friends, if only for a few minutes, and seeing the joy and familiarity in all the kids faces

It is traffic jams caused by cows that won’t get out of the way on the highway

It is camels walking down the streets in Agra, monkeys trying to grab bags from tourists and elephants on the streets of Jaipur

It is families looking at ours in curiosity and sometimes bewilderment, and asking so nicely and politely if they can take a picture with us

We have been beyond fortunate, BEYOND, to be able to see the things we have and to experience all that we have so far

And I’m still blown away on a daily basis by what I see and what I learn and what I don’t know

And I’m extremely grateful for all of it
