book report: i am anne frank

On our way to Amsterdam, I listened to a read-aloud called, “I am Anne Frank.” The author and a Holocaust Survivor who was 95 read it to me. Let me tell you about it.

Before they were hiding, Anne got her diary for her 13th birthday.

When she had to go into hiding, she had to say goodbye to her cat. Anne was not happy about that.

When the Nazis were taking over Amsterdam, they made lots of rules that were unfair. For example, at the pool there were signs that said, “No Jews Allowed.”

They went into hiding in a very, very, very small attic for two years and one day. It was so small for eight people. Anne's favorite place was the tip top part of the attic because she saw a tree and blue skies.

The last part of the book said that there were people who helped Anne hide. It made her hopeful. And the lesson is that, when someone is in trouble, you should always help them.

Thank you for reading. I hope you enjoyed!
