facts about the Colosseum

When you see the Colosseum, it looks like a football stadium. It used to be made of marble and in arches there were statues.

In the middle of the amphitheater was where the gladiators fought. The floor was sand to soak up the blood!

There was a trap door where they would let dangerous animals out, like lions, tigers, and elephants.

Back in the day, women were treated unfairly, so they had to pay, they couldn’t drink wine, and they had the worst seats with the worst view. HOW RUDE!
